Business Development Manager – E-Mobility
Richmond, VA

Responsible for E-Mobility sales goals by gaining specification approvals at key utilities and local government organizations along with driving and supporting field sales, integrators, and our channel partners to expand the Weidmuller position in the electric vehicle charging market.


Description:

  • Key contributor in the development of Weidmüller’s go to market strategy for Electric Vehicle Chargers, cables, and components

  • Subject matter expert for the market and Weidmüller’s solutions for electric vehicle charging applications

  • Identify target applications, competitors, and/or customers in which the Weidmüller portfolio is particularly suited to fill niches

  • Works closely with field sales to develop and identify potential customers

  • Drives sales and support activities to completion at all target customers, utilities, government organizations, integrators, and key channel partners

  • Gather ‘voice of the customer’ feedback and market information to drive future product enhancements

  • Implements and supports marketing strategies and programs

  • Implements strategies to meet and exceed budget goal requirements established

  • Conducts regularly scheduled territory and district reviews with District Managers, field sales personnel, integrators, and channel partners

  • Forecast the opportunities and fill the sales funnel and the project pipeline with required information

  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

  • Sales experience working in the electrical vehicle charging market with distribution, OEMs, systems integrators, and manufacturer representatives

  • Requires a deep understanding of electric vehicle charging market

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to follow multiple projects and to prioritize effectively

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proven sales techniques and consulting skills

  • Extensive travel required; up to 70% (USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany), post-COVID restrictions

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Ensures thorough familiarity with and actively adheres to all Environmental and Safety and Security Policies and performs their duties in accordance with those policies

  • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA) as well as Company policies and procedures

  • Responsible for notifying your direct supervisor, manager and/or a member of the Executive Staff of any risks associated with the Quality Management System

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Five to seven years of successful combined electronics component sales and sales management experience

  • Demonstrated experience promoting and presenting products and solutions directly to end users
