Distribution Manager - Regional
Richmond, VA

Supports customers and outside sales staff as the main point of contact including but not limited to providing information, catalog support, order processing and maintenance, returns & credit requests, non-technical troubleshooting and issue resolution. Communicates and coordinates activities with others in order to meet customer requests and expectations in a timely manner in accordance with the company policies and procedures.


Description:

  • Leads the development and implementation of channel strategies for the region for local, regional, national and global channel partners

  • Responsible for increased channel performance and market share growth to support our PCB growth requirements

  • Responsible for consistent implementation of our channel policies, communications and programs

  • Responsible for the management of the channel financial budget

  • Facilitates teaming with other regions globally to develop and support regional and global channel management strategies and programs to support our business needs

  • Develops and retains relationships with our National Channel Partners at senior levels

  • Coordinates Weidmuller/Manufacturers Representative and distribution partner’s sales activity to include new business opportunities and “target” accounts with the Regional Sales Managers

  • Screens and evaluates existing and potential distribution partners on a territory-by-territory basis to achieve our channel growth requirements

  • Enforces and implements changes in distribution partner’s status as required in accordance with our channel policies and procedures

  • Develops, motivates and supports distribution channel to maximize mindshare and growth

  • Develops and implements “Premier Distribution” incentive plan on an annual basis

  • Recruits, directs and coordinates the activities of the Distribution Coordinator

  • Coordinates & facilitates product marketing promotions & programs with the distribution channel

  • Continues to develop and understand new delivery mechanisms for Supply Chain Management and E-business while ensuring continued improvement of channel performance

  • Develops and implements the required channel product training programs to accelerate new product introductions and ensure our channel partners sell “Total Weidmuller Connectivity”

  • Develops and manages the required channel Point-Of-Sale (POS) reporting processes and systems to provide proper field sales reporting and compensation

  • Participates in the channel Industry associations that keep us in touch with our Industry channel trends, and the Industry channel leaders

  • Ensures thorough familiarity with and actively adheres to all Environmental and Safety and Security Policies and performs their duties in accordance with those policies

  • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA) as well as Company policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree supplemented by technical training and/or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with Manufacturers Representatives and Industrial and Electronic Distribution

  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate and hold channel partners accountable

  • Past successful development of sales and marketing programs with channel partners

  • Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • High technical aptitude

  • Strong organizational, sales growth planning and time management skills

  • Ability to travel extensively
