Sales & Operations Planning Manager

The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Manager is a creative thought leader that is responsible for the development and execution Weidmüller’s overall supply chain strategy and S&OP processes, resulting in balancing demand and supply efforts for all product lines. This role works closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Finance and other functional areas to lead and execute best practice S&OP processes across the company to improve customer satisfaction and enhance business performance results.

Leads strategic S&OP process and SOP development/execution with a focus on continuous improvement that is critical in driving Weidmüller growth in line with business strategy and shapes the future of supply chain strategy

Manages forecasting and inventory planning activities to meet (inter)national customer needs in compliance with company goals and standards

Responsible for the development and execution monthly S&OP process including meetings related to product forecasts, financial projections, inventory plans, capacity planning, product EOL management and new product planning

Drives S&OP process to support actions that meet or exceed objectives on inventory goals, fill rate, on time delivery, obsolete inventory, planned vs. produced, etc.

Facilitates S&OP process to ensure proactive communication and recommendations regarding significant current/potential supply performance problems to appropriate stakeholders (including, but not limited to, schedule feasibility or non-compliance, material or capacity imbalance, excess inventory, etc.)

Partners with key stakeholders to implement business strategies, validate forecast accuracy/methodology, provide input regarding inventory strategy and align financial/business plans with operational plans through S&OP process

Generates slow moving/obsolete list issued monthly in collaboration with sourcing/procurement

Recommends replenishment parameter changes (e.g. safety stock, lead-times, min, max)

Establishes clear and robust KPIs to measure progress through S&OP process improvements and ties to business revenue and profitability plans

Responsible for monthly and annual forecasting and discussion of trends/new discovery

Ensures through the sourcing process that the company is optimizing supply base and creating improvements in overall supply chain efforts
Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain or relevant years of experience, advanced degree preferred

Three to Five years forecasting or logistics experience at a strategic level

Experience with statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning

Experience with the development and execution of new SOPs/procedures from scratch

Strong technical proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Microsoft Project

Proficiency in MRP/ERP purchasing/inventory software

Knowledge of manufacturing industry

Excellent attention to detail, high analytical thinking skills and ability to problem solve and use judgement to make sound decisions

Uses forecast systems to develop strategic and tactical solutions

Good interpersonal skills, and concise communication orally and in writing

Sets priorities and meets deadlines in fast-paced and changing environment
